Why Gem State Pest Solutions?

Simply, you want the best.  Perhaps that sounds a bit overconfident, but we are very proud of what we do.  We strive to well exceed the industry standard.  We believe it’s best to be the company who sets the bar high.

Do hardware store products work just as well?

Not really.  While some decent products are available, consumers will likely spend more money in the long run for appropriate treatment, considering both volume and longevity in the environment.  This combined with the knowledge of how to safely and effectively adjust to each situation, makes Gem State Pest Solutions a far better option for most people.

Do you guarantee your work?

Absolutely!  Gem State Pest Solutions will happily come out to resolve any issues that might arise between scheduled service intervals.  We want our customers to be completely satisfied with the service they pay for.  If not, what’s the point?

Why treat seasonally?

Pest control is meant to be just that: control.  Single treatments rarely resolve general pest issues and will very often make them much worse.  By first breaking the hatching cycle and then maintaining an active residual barrier, we can ensure control over any pest that is currently hatching.  Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Do we need the inside of our home treated?

We usually recommend treating the inside of the home during our initial appointment.  This gives us a clean slate and ensures that any pests already inside the home are eliminated.  After the initial application, many (most) people don’t worry about interior treatments because we protect them from the outside.

Do you offer solutions for rodents?

Yes. The best and most important solution to rodent problems inside is exclusion.   Mice can enter through a hole the size of a dime or a gap less than 1/4 of an inch.  Rats don’t require much more of a gap.  Caulking and steel wool are great tools for sealing holes and cracks where rodents may access the home. We recommend sealing any entry points you can find. We can implement several products to eliminate rodents. Rodent baits, traps and even glue boards can be options.

Can you eliminate the flies and mosquitoes in my yard?

No.  While we would love to create a force field to keep every pest out of your yard, the technology just doesn’t exist.  (But we are very interested when it does)  We can provide advice to eliminate standing water and other things in your yard that attract these pests.  Flying pests will always access your yard, the key is giving them less reason to be interested.

Do you remove wasp nests?

Yes!  In fact, it is part of our standard service plan.  Removing nests from your home is part of the first step taken when we arive for treatment.  We also make applications, where possible, in an attempt to keep them from coming back.

Hiring you means never seeing another bug again, right?

Sadly, no.  Pests can still enter the home via pathways carried in on clothing or camping gear from last weekend’s adventures.  The good news is, we will return at no additional charge should the need arise.  Don’t hesitate to call if you see a pest in your home.  That’s what you pay us for.

My neighbors need pest control, can I refer them?

Please do!  Our primary means of growth is referrals from happy customers.  In fact, we will credit you $25.00 toward your next service as a way of saying, “Thank You.”

Does Gem State Pest Solutions offer any service guarantees?

Yes. We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. But if you need additional pest control service between your regular scheduled visits, we will return and retreat your home at no additional charge.

Do you have to follow a strict service schedule for pest control?

Bugs are stubborn and persistent; they’re constantly looking for new ways into your home. Our goal is to break the pest development cycle, and that requires regular service. Insect eggs are often resistant to the materials we use to control pests, so a one-time service will only control the adult population. Soon after, the eggs will hatch, and you’ll be back at square one. A regular service agreement will provide you with year-round protection from unwanted pests.

Do I have to sign up for an entire year of pest control service?

Yes. We’ve found that the best way to provide you with the quality of service you deserve is to service your home multiple times a year. We invest a significant amount of time and money to exceed your expectations and keep your home pest-free. In return, we ask that you let us service your home for at least 12 months. Once you see the quality and effectiveness of our service, we are confident you will want to stay with us for many years to come

Do I have to have the inside of my home treated each service call, or can you just service the exterior?

We will customize our pest control service to fit your needs. Many of our customers ask that we only treat the exterior of their home with each service. Some customers want both interior and exterior treated.

However, once we have your interior pests under control, a quarterly exterior service should be sufficient to keep the bugs out. If interior service is ever needed again, we will happily provide that for you at no additional cost.

Can you handle mice and rats?

Yes. The best method for treating rodent problems is exclusion. Mice can fit into a hole the size of a dime, and rats can fit into a hole the size of a quarter. Caulking and steel wool are great tools for sealing holes and cracks.

After we have sealed any entry points, we will implement a variety of products that will eliminate rodents, such as snap traps, glue boards, and rodent baiting programs.

Can you get rid of flies and mosquitoes?

No, our exterminators cannot get rid of flies and mosquitoes, as they are difficult to control. The best method for controlling mosquitoes and flies is to remove all standing water from around your home and clean up lawn clippings and pet droppings. Also, keep a lid on your trash can and make sure it’s emptied frequently.

Note that if we do apply a product around your property for another problem, and these pests come in contact with it, they will die. However, we will not spray specifically for flies and mosquitoes.

Can you do anything about the spider webs in my home?

Yes. With each pest control visit, Gem State Pest Solutions will sweep the webs from your eaves and overhangs. After a few regular visits, you’ll notice a large decrease in the amount of webbing around your home.

What can you do about the wasp nests on my home?

We’ll remove those pesky nests! Our exterminators use extension poles that reach most two-story eaves. We are also equipped to remove ground-nesting yellow jacket nests.

If I use your service, will my home always be pest-free?

No. While we consider ourselves one of the best pest control services in the area, and strive to provide you with a pest-free environment, we can’t guarantee you’ll never see pests again. Bugs can enter your home in a variety of ways, such as on luggage, grocery bags, pets, or clothes, making it hard to control 100%.

However, if you ever need additional service between your regular visits, we’ll gladly return and service your home free of charge.

What if I refer my neighbor for pest control services?

We always appreciate referrals, and we’ll gladly reward you with $25 off your next pest control service.
